Community Structure is a web design and hosting company which takes a different approach to meet our clients’ needs. Although our clients are completely unique, the one thing we’ve heard consistently is “we need a website that’s easy to use”. Our clients usually do not come from a technical background, so they need to be able to update and maintain their content without the technology getting in the way.
Our priorities match those of our clients:
- Security – sharing information is what the web is about, but each individual needs to have control over what information is shared.
- Reliability – we only use high-reliability servers and can provide precise guarantees. In addition, we are on call 24×7x365 should you ever have an emergency.
- Ease of use – we generally use Drupal and Wordpress, two of the most popular content management systems, as the framework for our sites. Our clients have found them to be intuitive and robust.
- Value – Drupal and Wordpress are both open-source, which means that you are getting the best product for the best price. We have different levels of design as well as hosting to meet both your quality and cost standards.
Community Structure was started in 2003 to help non-profits organize their clients and keep track of their supporters. Since then, we’ve built dozens of sites for small and large communities, both commercial and non-profit.
Our President, John Bartucz, has been building websites since Mosaic was the only browser with pictures. He is still closely involved with all the design and is always just a phone call or an email away.
Why “Community Structure”? In Computer Science, a network has “community structure” if it divides naturally into groups of nodes with strong connections within groups and sparser connections between groups. Our goal is to make our clients’ networks stronger. This doesn’t necessarily mean more communication, it means better communication. Your users will build your community, all you have to do is give them the structure.
